My name is Andi Paulin and I am the founder.
Toezies was founded in 2006.
My idea for Toezies came after faithfully doing pilates for 5 years and becoming a certified instructor. As a pilates enthusiast, I searched for the one sock that allowed me to have the comfort of wearing a sock but the freedom to use my toes. It didn’t exist! That’s when I came up with the idea for Toezies.
I began practicing Pilates in 2000 and earned my certification in 2004 through Power Pilates in New York. My passion for Pilates combined with my entrepreneurial spirit led to the creation of Toezies. I began developing Toezies in 2005 and was able to coordinate my entire start-up -- bringing my product from concept to reality including design, manufacturing and distribution -- by means of the internet. Toezies debuted on the market in fall of 2006 and the reorders have been rolling in ever since.
A longtime fitness enthusiast, I was a college cheerleader for my alma mater, Indiana University. After graduation, I decided to make the move out west to California and pursue a career in education. My teaching career was cut short however, by an opportunity to start my own internet company. In 1999, I co-founded and began developing the Yacht Channel (www.yachtchannel.com), an internet portal for the super-yacht industry. A one-stop shop for everything related to the super-yacht industry from chartering and purchasing information to weather and tourism tips, the site continues to flourish and the company is currently developing cable television programming. While I maintain my position on the board and continue to guide Yacht Channel as a Portal Producer, I stepped back from my day-to-day duties following the birth of my daughter in 2004.
In addition to my blossoming businesses, I currently practice and teach Pilates near my home in Laguna Beach, CA where I live with my husband and our 5 children ranging in age from 14 to 9 months.
